Things to do in D.C.:
I want to introduce you to a site that brings young professionals together by providing up-to-date information on social and cultural gatherings throughout Washington, D.C. and the surrounding area. With over 125,000 active members and detailed descriptions of each event on their calendar, Things To Do (TTD) is a helpful commodity for those wishing to network, find new friends, and mingle with like-minded professionals.
TTD lists a variety of events sure to peak almost any interest: “From black tie galas to embassy affairs, informational seminars to outdoor adventure, nightclub parties to exotic weekend getaways” (http://www.thingstododc.com/). According to TTD, they offer thirty years of diverse event planning experience, which contributes to their ability to appeal to the interests of mostly any young professional. As you browse their website for possible events, you will be impressed with the detailed outline of every event, and surprised by how much that information helps you decide if the event is for you or not. For an example, the "Personality Singles Dinner & Reception at Marrakesh For Young Professionals" link provides information on who the event is marketed towards, how it works, the menu, prices, and reception following the dinner.

This is really a great all inclusive site. What more can anyone ask for? This site is definitely going to be a good tool when I'm planing my next trip to Washington DC. I'm also going to pass these useful information on to some fellow Marines who are always looking for something to do in and around the DC area.

ReplyDeleteTwo things: more analysis of the site is needed. Are there any negatives to using it? Do they emphasize one type of activity over (and to the detriment) of others?
Also, work on contrast. The text color is too dark, making this a bit difficult to read.
Since I am not from this area it is hard to find different things to do. Thanks to this blog, I now know there is a lot of stuff to do in DC. So the next girl's night out will be with a limo ride around DC.
